17th International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation - ISAP 2012, Nagoya (Japón). 29 octubre - 02 noviembre 2012
Resumen:
The current paper presents some of the most important contribution to antenna arrays for radioastronomy, biology and security applications in Spain from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and the Universidad Publics de Navarra. These applications deal with both low frequency arrays for the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) and with Terahertz imaging arrays. Concerning the SKA project, the demonstrator, called FIDA3 (FG-IGN Differential Active Antenna Array), is part of the Spanish contribution for the SKA project. It is an active array working from 250 MHz up to 1 GHz. Concerning THz applications, active arrays based on electronic or photonic approaches will be presented. For these two situations the concept of active array is fully exploited for these applications. Finally, the numerical methods used will be presented. The paper is organized as follows, section 2 gives an outline of FIDA3. Section 3 presents two different approaches to THz imaging arrays. Section 4 provides some contributions on finite element methods (FEMs) from UC3M.
